Thoughts on the realities for leaders in postsecondary contexts

How is it that public statements of commitment to diversity and inclusion are made by postsecondary leaders in response to allegations of racism? How is it that senior leadership in Canadian postsecondary institutions today lacks diversity? What do the concepts of diversity and inclusion mean to postsecondary leaders and how are they enacted? These are some of the questions that I asked myself as I tried to understand my world as a black, female, African Canadian educator and postsecondary leader.
